Regardless of how the color scheme may or may not suit particular peoples' tastes, I think it quite impressive that you were able to get the fade so well balanced between each side... good job.

exactly this. The color scheme for me...it's no longer a matter of taste but just an incredible result of execution. Goes in that weird category of functional aesthetic, if that makes sense.
