My first pair of Oakleys was a set of gold/gold e-wires back in the day.

I loved them at the time, and when I got the email from Oakley saying they were releasing a limited edition of the exact same version I had, I've been wondering if I should buy a pair ever since.

So does anyone have any experience with them?? what did you think?

    thanks!

    I think it's a cop-out move by a has-been company. And that's putting it nicely.

Instead of being original and coming out with new exciting designs, IMHO Oakley is trying to re-kindle some excitement by bringing back old stock.

This isn't a bad thing if you had a pair that you need to replace, but i've been able to pick up original release e-wires on CL/ebay/etc. for relatively cheap so i didn't see a need to pay full price.

I just got a NIB pair of old stock E Wire for under 100 quid.

Very tempted by the new releases but I 'need' some M2 first!

I bought a pair around Christmas, mainly so I could get one of the promo grips. They're just fine, and are very close to the originals. If you liked the originals, you will like the 2013 version. Sure, they're a lame cash grab by Lux, and they are overpriced, but it could have been worse.

They cost the same as the originals did in the nineties, £120. That was a lot in 1995!

These are at the Vault now ( at least the one I was at today). Square wire too. Not a big selection but they had them.

They're only $150 on the website. Curious why they're showing up at the vault when they're still being sold on Oakley.com
