This is my biggest concern. How do you feel about the durabilty of the hinges over time....?

Beyond the hinges, the rest of the same 'anodised' material - exactly the same thing happens. It chips off to the base material making them virtually cosmetically unusable, this happens beyond warranty. They were a comfortable pair of Oakley's and I have 2 pairs: the first batch didn't suffer this fate of manufacturing flaw as badly but the latter series were bad news, but both had this in the process. Looks like they corroded/oxidised in these areas too. Simply skimping on costs in these processes will ruin a world leading company. Anodizing - Wikipedia
