Blade 2 Over The Top!

Does anybody know how many of these were made? The Oakley Over the Top's are rare enough, so figured the Blade 2's must be even more rare.

This glass was withdrawn immediately upon release, pairs that had been received by dealers were recalled. The questions really are a) how many made and of those how many were distributed, b) of those distributed how many were sent back and how many were sold within the 'heartbeat' they were available, and c) what did Oakley do with the pairs that were returned to them and any they had not released. The question as to how many pairs actually exist may potentially never be answered, suffice to say it is without question exceptionally rare. As an aside, The Blade II Four was recalled about three months after distribution.

Why would Oakley release these special edition pairs only to pull them immediately?

eBay has a Blade 2 over the top for $1400.

Wonder if it had anything to do with Snipes being arrested for fleeing and eluding and possession of marijuana after the blade movie was released. He was on a motorcycle and chased down and wouldnt stop.

The difference is the Blade II lens etching in the left eye, everything else is the same including the box and 04-064 SKU. The Four on the other hand had a different code, so here you have the regular issue Black - Grey 03-378, and the Black - Grey 12-616 Blade II with lens etching.
