Cutting Custom X Metal Lenses?

Hey Forum,

Lately, I've been experimenting with cutting my own lenses and I'm wondering if any of you out there have any other techniques than me.

What I've been doing is covering my donor lens with blue painters tape, tracing a beater lens for the correct frame onto the tape, then using a dremel to shave down the lens to the proper fit. Its worked out well for two sets of lenses I've cut for my XS, but I'm looking to better the technique!

Here was my first attempt with Emerald Iridium Polarized for my XS

AFAIK the dremel technique is the most common, unless you have access to a professional lens cutting machine.

But I think many bevel using a sanding wheel. Probably easier to do that with a benchtop wheel than a dremel sanding drum.

I'm just going to get a C-clamp and clamp my dremel to the table and use it like a sanding wheel.
