Cyclops' Penny

Hia guys and girls.

The sideblinders are made of high quality resin. And are beutifull cast and painted.

i bought a pair for my juliets mainly cus im a X-men fan and really like the way they look.
Many glues them on but i found that using bluetac works just fine and dont damage the glasses.

I dont go out wearing them though as they get way to heavy,,, but they make a great X-Men display piece hehe

So I was browsing for some Penny's and I saw an actual set of Cyclops' Penny's on eBay. I noticed that they have some weird plates that wrap around the sides, can anyone explain why?

Are the plates what make these things so valuable/rare or is it just part of the costume piece?

if you go back and look at the pair cyclops has in the movies, there isnt that seam where the sideblinders connect to the actual frame. they must have filled it and resprayed or something
