Do You Find 2 And 7 Are The SAME Or DIFFERENT In A Serial Number?

To me partial refunds are only justified if the item is some how less functional than as advertised. As you have said other than the 1 digit of the serial number being different the glasses are in as advertised condition, so to me a partial refund is out of the question.

In my mind you have 2 options. If you can accept that this was an honest mistake, forgive the seller and go on enjoying your new glasses. The other option if you are so unsatisfied with your purchase is to ship the item back to the seller at your expense, and ask for a full refund of the purchase price.

I don't know either member personally but I have to say that I know the feeling of expecting an item to be "perfect" and finding a slight flaw. It often causes anger, disappointment, and a sense of wrong doing on the part of the seller. I also know the feeling of doing your best to describe something accurately only to have the buyer find a flaw or to have not met their preconceived vision of what the item would be. It makes you feel bad, guilty because you did your best to be honest and the buyer feels misled, and also embarrassed to have made a mistake.

In this case hopefully this forum will be a place of mediation for both people involved. Both members have a solid reputation and neither has been known to stir up trouble in the past. Hopefully the two of you will come to an agreement you both are satisfied with and we can all go on loving our hobby.

thanks for the advice...really appreciate it!

These international disputes only reinforce my unwillingness to ship overseas. If there is a problem, it shouldn't be resolved by unnecessary means simply because its easier than handling the return, international postage.

I really dont think the serial affects the value and do not support a partial refund in this matter.

They glasses are as described condition wise right?

And they actual have a lower serial than expected?

It may not be the number you're looking for, but they're not worth any less

There is no basis for a refund. The buyer got a lower serial and is complaining because the sellers listing said it was higher. I'd be saying "score" and leave it at that.

how important really is the serial number for you bro? coz for me if the item was described (condition wise) perfectly then there is no need for me to get a refund, partial or full on the basis of a serial. people will see the glasses when you wear them, not the serial written inside. I know this maybe important to some collectors but having an "item as described" pair (condition wise) will be better than finding a correct serialized pair but with scratched lenses and poor condition frames. hearno is a great guy, ive bought a lot of metals from him, I know too that youre a great member, so maybe lets settle this like family and enjoy our pairs. have a great day hanzo!

Keep in mind this is the member who traded a great deal to get a Romeo frame that had a serial number that had some significance to him. So apparently the serial is quite important to this gentleman.

The reason for which we've yet to understand, and one he might not have impressed fully upon Herno before making the purchase.

I understand the significance of numbers. It's an interesting thing, Numerology. I can see why you're upset to some extent.

I have had a transaction with that member before, it was smooth and items as advertised. I would guess it was an honest mistake.

That's all I have to say about it. I haven't been around here long enough to give advice yet bro.

Best of luck working through this.

I'd say, even if its a honest mistake, still a mistake " not as described"
Numbers are important to certain ppl. Example a car plate num of 777877 would fetch more value than 777827 correct?!
In china ppl pay **** loads for anything 88!

If that's me in this situation, if ask for a return, buyer+seller split shipping cost, whatever it takes shipping to&fro
