Funky looking Juliet serial

Does the serial in this look suspect to anyone else? Or is this weird coloration common in some of the plasma juliets?

gonna have to confess that this WHOOSHED right over me

It appears to have been a plasma frame that was refinished tk an xmetal finish. He covers the serial number to retain it.
