Hi guys, new here. Been a huge fan of Oakley's since I was a kid. Just wanna say how lucky you guys in the states are in getting free lifetime refills for the solution. Here in Singapore, there's no such thing, and Oakley's are highly marked up as well!
Very informative thread on here!
Welcome to the forum.

I never new that lifetime refills were only in the US.....maybe they will stop that soon too

I've tried asking my local oakley importer, as well as those in the neighbouring countries, they all replied saying that free refills are only available in the US.
Hopefully they never stop, for the benefit of the US fans!

I just boughta nanoclear lens kit. Do I need to clean or prep lens or do I just apply it. Thanks for the awesome post and comments I never thought about the cleaning kits, thought that it was a gimmick. I paid 23 for this kit is that a good price.

You have to just clean them with a soft cotton cloth and a few drops of cleaning spirit. This will damage them against any kind of scratches and dust grains.

My Oakley lenses always stayed scratch free and clean. I used dish detergent, hot water, and clean fingertips. Squirt a little soap on your finger, put the glasses under the Fawcett, and gently and lightly work your soapy fingertips on the entire lens, rinse well, give 'em a shake, and dab the lend with a Kleenex. I always use the second Kleenex in the box. At hat way, it is isolated from microscopic dust particles gathered by the Kleenex that spent time hanging out of the box. This has worked well for me.

When I purchased 1 of my pairs I think it was my Fast Jackets it came with a small black think with clear screw on top and had a white slanted substance that instructions said to wipe them on your lenses and let sit for a moment and then to take microfiber cloth to clean it off. It worked great but now it's empty so I didn't know of I should try going back to the Oakley Vault in Sevierville which is roughly half hour to hour drive depending on traffic to purchase so more of it or if they have a better cleaning supply now? Unfortunately there are no other sunglasses stores that I know of in my area. Should I just make the trip to the O.V. and buy some more or is there anything raise they may sell in another store that is good at cleaning the lenses. My problem is mainly from sweat cause in Summer months it is very humid and muggy which cause alot of sweat to drip onto my glasses. Would an eye Dr store or place you go to get glasses sellsomething that Is good clean Oakley lenses without damaging because I love all my pairs of Oakleys. Sorry for long message just would love to know if there is anything I can do to help take the best care possible for them

It sounds like you're talking about the Oakley Hydrophobic kit. You can order it directly from Oakley and have it shipped to you. Go here:

Oakley NanoClear Hydrophobic Lens Cleaner Kit | Oakley

Even though you can certainly use that as a general cleaner, I personally don't. I first use the normal Oakley cleaning solution to clean my lenses. The hydrophobic stuff basically puts a coat on top of your lenses, which acts like Rain-X. It basically keeps stuff from easily sticking to your lenses. That coating will stay on your lenses for a while, even after cleaning them with the normal Oakley cleaning solution, so it's kind of a waste to use the hydrophobic solution as a simple cleaner, even though you certainly can. I basically clean my lenses with the normal solution whenever they need it. I'll re-do the hydrophobic coating every month or so on my regular wear pairs.

I would not EVER put a Kleenex or any paper product on my lenses. A car paint specialist once informed me it will damage the clear coat and I'd conclude definetly damage iridium or whatever coating is on your lens.

I have the Hydrophobic lenses. I use Dawn Dishwashing liquid and warm water. After probably 50 cleanings they are still Hydrophobic.
When I rinse them, I give them a shake and there is maybe one drop on every lense surface inside and out. Plus, I don't really have a serious need for Hydrophobic technology. I used to run 10K's, and that is when you could use it. Now, the most extreme workouts I get are working on my tractor. I wish I could still run, but four back surgeries made me an old man at 59.

Lifetime Oakley cleaning solution refills also in Canada at any Sunglasses Hut and Oakley Store locations.

If you want the best cleaning cloths, go with Muji Cleaning Cloth - 14 pieces per pack for like 2 bucks and being disposable acrylic paper, they actually perform even better than fabric lens cloths. Made in Japan.
