Icons Hotfix

If your icons are damaged and you don't have airbrush equipment:

- cook your icons
- peel off the damaged coating
- clean your icons with petrol
- grab a flask of nail lacquer from your well equipped girlfriend (don't ask her, she wouldn't allow to use her stuff !!!)
- paint and polish your icons

Thanks. Chrome wouldn't match the frame, that's why I had to go grey.

I have done this before before painting my icons all icons are chrome underpaint

The chrome layer has a copper base and does not go off after cooking the icons. Seems to be a very stable coating.

brw paint thinner works for stripping icons too, but dont leave it on there too long

I used boiling hot water and a dishwasher tab.

I'm glad that my experiences will help others.
You can use a double faced adhesive tape. Two small pieces for each icon are enough.
