Is Mars Crater Worth Buying?

This is what I posted in this thread: http://www.oakleyforum.com/threads/crate-mars.20719/

Batwolf, I think I have the answers to some of your questions... I figured I had bought a pair from her, I might as well ask the questions we all want to know...

Qouted from our ebay messages:

Dear eyeframesman,
First of all, thanks for the Mars you sold me. The lenses seem a little bit foggy. They look clear when you look through them at a distance, but in bright outdoor light, they seem a little foggy. All of my current pairs of Oakleys are rather new, and don't have this issue.

I'm really curious, how many pairs of Mars did you buy? Did you buy the "found crate" from Oakley? http://www.freshnessmag.com/2010/08/19/oakley-x-metal-mars-sunglasses/

Will these be available for a while, or is the surplus starting to run low? I would like to know, because I really need to get another pair so I can do some customizations to a pair.

Also, none of these have a coin or a box? That would be most awesome to score a box and coin.

Thanks!!!

Dear beancooker,

Remember that this product was manufactured before 1998 which makes them 15 years old. I don't know if Oakleys lens material degrades over time or not. The quality of lenses today may also be better than they were then. I would say it would have more to do with their coatings than with the lenses. I bought all of this product 7 years ago and had sealed product and unsealed product that was for display. I sold out all of the sealed product first in the first 3 years. All gone. What I am selling now is what is left. I still have about 300 pair, so I will still be selling for a while.
