Heh...not to mention what those things would weigh.Ha Ha nice thinking..... but how much metal would it take, that's where the costs are at.
I'm kind of surprised that several folks here have posted that they thought they were metal before actually seeing a pair in person. If you stop and think about it, there's no way they would stay on your head if they were metal. The alloy used for x-metals is rigid...hence the Oakley designers' clever implementation of flex couplers for the nose bridges on the x-metal line. If the OTT were rigid, it couldn't clamp itself onto your noggin like it does, and would probably slide right off if you tilted your head. And they'd likely only fit a certain number of people with the ideal head shape, if at all. And they'd be awfully heavy...your neck would be aching after an hour with 'em on. O-Matter was really the only realistic choice.
