thats kind of what i was thinking. i know some fabric colors will bleed onto other items.

I agree with FGG, the hinges look more than suspicious.
Rivets on outside face of legs should be more or less flush with surface.
Yours look protruded.
Hence, highly likely to be fake.

can you explain why, apart from not being able to find the colour on the web, hinges look fine to me. Side oakley is printed, japan stamped into the leg

I am glad you did a web search, I didnt but I know that colorway was never produced. I am suspicous of the hinges more than that though, they dont look right because they look to be cheap aluminum not steel and the rivets are sticking up as well. I dont know if they were soaked in Kool Aid for 6 years to produce that color, but I am telling you im almost positive those are fake. But what do I know?
