Buying Looking to buy a beater pair R1 or Penny's

Hello I'm looking to buy my first beater pair of either R1 or Penny's. Looking to spend 2-250 at most (tight budget). Goal is to customize them and I know I'll be deemed crazy for this but hey you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Wayne Gretski/Michael Scott. If you have any other xmetal types I'm down to hear what you might have as well.

Decided to get some Juliet's in the end, I will eventually get a pair of R1 but for now I'll be content with the Juliet's. After comparing the penny's I just realized they would be too small for me.
