I'm curious. What is it with the Matco releases? I know that Oakley and Matco share sponsorship on some motorsports etc, but is there any other historical link between them? Or is it just "We both sponsor this dude/bike/car, can you make us some shades?".

from what i was able to research is that these where given as part of the 30th anniversary of matco tools. they where only given to employees of matco and not sold in stores. i also have both pairs and the are sweet!

Nice! I was watching this auction too. I wanted to bid, but the seller's description about the condition of the pieces kind of scared me, especially the Hijinx. Glad you were able to snag these. They look awesome! Congrats!

Yeah those icons are sweet - and on ebay now someone is selling a giant Matco/Oakley Tool Box with an awesome classic Monster Dog logo painted on it! Just wish I lived close enough to pick it up!
