Moda3 on eBay

They look fake to me. There is no sticker on the box and no SKU on the arm. I know that they are all hand done, but the paint looks way runny compared to any that I've seen before as well.

I'm definitely all over them at the moment.....
Surely one of this forum have owned them

Question to Other Moda owners did they come in a clear plastic bag like that???

I have a genuine pair of Splatter - Black, Moda3 Frogskins, and can confirm the following: The normal Frogskin box does have a label but is different to normal labels, it is on the back and shows the sku as 080463, the one in the ebay listing shows the white insert inside the box (which is the only paper to accompany the pair) and that would obscure the label. The key point is the label, as it is hard to see how a fake would make it's way into an original labelled box. There is a plastic bag with the original, as well as the pink microbag, consistent with the ebay pair. The glass was issued in 40, not 50 quantity, and many had a fault with the left arm join to the orbital, so a proper fitting pair is exceptionally rare. It is hard to see if the ebay pair suffers this defect or not. The Splatter pattern is different on each, making a fake more possible, but I must admit the 'green streak' on the pair we are talking about spoils the artistic appearance. There is no sku on the frame. My feeling is the pair is authentic. Anyone interested though would be advised to ask the seller about the label and the arm join.

@Romeo Van Frogskinstein - The label you are referring to is the stocking label placed on the box by the retailer (MODA 3) and is not a label applied by Oakley. Oakley part numbers for eyewear only come in a 5-digit numeric format (XX-XXX) or an 8-digit alphanumeric format (OOXXXX-XX).

Oakley never applied a label at the factory because these Frogskins did not have an Oakley part number. In fact, they were shipped to MODA 3 free of charge as a brand-building exercise, which is an action similar to how Valentines & St. Patty's Day Frogskins were distributed, among others. There are no SKU or eyesize marking on the inside of the temple. 40 units were shipped to MODA 3 while an additional 10 units were retained for Oakley archives, 50 unit total production quantity.

A label on the box (or lack thereof) has no bearing on authenticity. Here are links to images of other MODA 3 Frogskins, as you can see each pair is quite distinct from another:

I think the drip splatters add an ultra retro feel......

Look at them people that bought banksy prints on a new york market stall just liking the art........not to know that they bought a $$$$$$$ worth of banksy paintings

Risk of the game.....flip side of that argument

But sweet pair all the same
