I thought, that GRFMotorsports said, that tortoise probaly had a color all the way through the frame.....?

I was under the impression that the brown was the paint and the actual "tortoising" was through the frame.

you can not peel of the colour from olive rust or amber frames because the colour is all through the frame.
you can only peel the fade frames.


Peeled Whiskey

It looks great, but too bad for me. It is not easy to buy some fade pair here, in Czech Republic. Would you ever think about selling one ? I am looking just for a fame...

I believe on a tortoise frame there is an overlay of film to give it the tortoise effect. The frame underneath is translucent but not clear, would be a shade of brown. If I had a beater pair around here I would experiment but I dont want to mess with any I have.

I used hot water and the paint rubbed off with a little bit of effort.

Thank you. I've turned my Whiskey into a clear. I now have a "new" Monster Dog.
