My first attempt in restoring my 17 year old Juliet's

These are my very first Oakley's from 1999! I was thinking of having it refinished professionally but decided to try thoroughly cleaning it first. I'll tell you guys this, automotive rubbing compound and ultrasonic cleaners work like wonders!!! Looks and feels like how I first got it with new rubbers installed as well. Too bad that I was not able to take before pics, I didn't expect results like this.

Here is a picture where it shows the years of dirt and grime the rag was able to pick up.

Great work

Whose nose pins did you use?

Not bad at all for a 17yr old pair of sunglasses. Still going strong. Should last you another 17+yrs. Nice work.

Thanks. Also wanted to let you guys know that I was able to easily remove black stains which I initially thought the plasma finish rubbed away especially on the ends of the ear stems. Rubbing compound cleaned this effortlessly.
Great tip! I cleaned up a pair of XX Ti02's and a pair of plasma Juliets- both first gen- using Meguire's polishing compound. Same thing as rubbing compound but a little less abrasive.
