My Next Oakleys: Confused

Hi there fellow buddies:

Just confused between two vintage models: The oakley mag switch tii copper and the oakley hatchet. I read somewhere that comparitively the hatchet is better as with the mags the colour starts to peal off soon and that doesnt happen with the hatchet. I really like the mag switch but confused now.

The Mag Switch is a magnesium frame with a ceramic coating. As the coating flakes, peels, degrades, etc you've left with bare magnesium, which is a very reactive metal and will corrode quickly. The design is such that lens replacement is almost impossible.

The Hatchet is aluminum (O-luminum as Oakley calls it). The clear coat may wear, but aluminum is stable enough to not degrade. The coatings that give the color won't wear quite as easily, but small marks won't cause the wear to propagate.
