Well check out the progress on my Custom plates. They are finished except the Icon O. That will be done tomorrow. It will be Red or Metallic Red. I will figure that out tomorrow.
The link shows what they looked like before (Gold 24K Plate) and now what they look like after.
Here is what I did:
First removed the plates. They came off pretty easy with a small flat head glasses screwdriver. I took it slow but they came off. Next took the arms off.
Started stripping the gold off with acetone-free nail polish remover. Arms were easy frame was a little bit of a pain. It took me about 3 hours to strip all of it.
Thanks to Oakleynerd for the tip on that!!
Next painted the Plates flat black. The arm Plates I painted Metallic Hammered Silver. Ordered some Ruby EXOVISTA lenses. Then started to put it back together.
So far the lenses are very clear and comfortable. The look I think is pretty different and cool. Let me know what you guys think.
