This is what I have right now

Could you not make it an oval base (as in a shape similar to the icon?)

The only problem with that is unless its really long, it isn't wide enough to be stable which defeats the point. If you wanna keep proportions anyway. And if you don't, a circle would be best for stability (back to square one)

One question though, if you have the capability of going 4 tiers high will you be able to keep the stands short enough to still fit in most towers?

each tier has a section of the main post with it. A 1 tier will be ~ 3in tall, a 2 teir about 5.5in tall, a 3 teir 8in tall, etc. You'll see in the pics that i'll post
