Oakley Penny Serial Number

What information can be gathered from the serial numbers? Ive got a pair I bought ages ago and I'd like to what/if any information I can get from it. Any help would be greatly appreciated? Also, mine are "loose" at the joints, Ive been told you can send em back to Oakley to get them refurbished. Is that true and if so what all is involved?

Oakley US does not "tune-up" the Pennys anymore. There is a forum member called The X Man and he will tune these up for you (tighten up the loose flex coupler at the center of the orbitals) for a reasonable charge.
If the issue is with the arm hinges you have a bigger issue because they are not serviceable anywhere. However, typically the issue is the flex coupler and he can make that better than factory.

Information from O Review

On most X-Metals glasses and Time Bomb watches, there is a unique serial number which identifies the item. X-Metal glasses after around December 2004 do not have these numbers, but most out there do have them. Each number has a prefix which identifies the frame/lens color combo:
