The New Eye Jackets in the picture look like 5.56 to me... That bright silver look, how do you differentiate the silver from white then?
That's a good question Malv, only wish I could answer it... I think the way I do is by looking at the colour and if it's closer to a grey then that says Silver to me however if it's closer to a Yellow then it's FMJ.
Hard to describe + the differences between the models and generations, light conditions.
Easiest way, as long as the pre-owner did not swap the lenses, only EJ +Red were produced as W.
I don't own any EJ, so I cannot make a comparison of them.
Here are some pics where you can see the differences of surfaces and the in/outside coating.
Minute Silver NON-FMJ - porous surface
Topcoat W - smooth surface, look at the inside of the icon. Looks like chrome depending on camera angle.
Minute White Chrome - Outside pearl white / Inside Chrome
