Pit Boss Titanium Plates & Lenses

Hello,

I am new the forum and apologize if this is duplicate thread but couldn't find anything a search relating to my question.....

Has anyone tried swapping out the titanium plates or lenses on the Pit Boss glasses? I have a pair of the matte black with the standard titanium color plates but would really like to try and swap them out with the gun metal color plates that come on the polished black pair. I am not a huge fan of the polished black but do like the gun metal plating. I could live with the polished black if I have to get a pair but can't stand the VR28 lenses that come with them. Does anyone know if Oakley sells replacement lenses for these glasses? I haven't been able to find any on the website.

I have...the plates aren't terribly hard, but it is easy to screw up a frame

They sell replacement lenses only, and generally require you to bring in or mail in your whole pair and pay for the replacements. Not positive what they charge, but probably in the neighborhood of $125-$150 I am guessing. I cut OEM lenses to custom fit bosses, so if you need some done, I can gladly help..

Thank you for the reply, that is good information and I will defiantly be checking out your Facebook page. After I posed this thread, while I was waiting for a response, I called Oakley Customer Care and they were pretty helpful. The cc agent immediately transferred me to a "specialist" since the Pit Boss is part of the Elite brand. The specialist actually walked around to the various departments to get the answers to my questions. Basically she said the same thing you did with regards to the lenses...They will replace them but only if you bring the glasses in our ship them. They will not send out replacement lenses as all work on the Pit Boss line must be done in-house by an Oakley tech.

With regards to the titanium plates...they will not replace them or sell replacement ones. She said if it was a situation where the plates needed to be replaced then at that point it would become an entire frame replacement. Which obviously wouldn't do me any good since I am looking for a frame/plate configuration they never actually produced. I guess my only option to get gun metal plates on a matte black frame is to buy both pairs and then swap the plates myself....I am not sure how I feel about spending an additional $600 on another pair of glasses and then trying to swap parts around with over $1200 worth of sunglasses. Especially if you say it's easy to screw up the fame

If you want them swapped, send em to me. I will do em. If you don't have 2 and want them color changed, I can do that too...

We share the same dilemma. Gun metal plates on matte black frame with black iridium lens would really look good. I'm wondering if Ti plates on polished black frame with vr28 lens would look good as well? I just wish we have an option to customize them.
