Polish A Vault?

stupid question... picked up a large metal vault and was wondering if it would detract from the value if I tried polishing it.

or best leave it be?

Detract from the value? Probably. What are they worth though? $50?

I think someone here polished one that was in bad shape.

about 75 bucks. I got mine for a little less. I doubt I could get it to be a mirror polish. probably more like a shine to it. The foam is in perfect shape thou

Polished aluminum will oxidize quickly and your finish will be dull and white. Stick with the stock stuff.

They do have a bling factor to a polished one but that aluminum will tarnish quick. I would rather do a bead blast or something like that to it. Polishing aluminum is just infinite work to keep it that way, even if it just sits in a case.
