Idk. It could be reproduced with enough work. It's probably just a form of anodization. Oakley doesn't work some voodoo magic

But I do agree that it wouldn't be easy to copy, and impossible with paint

(Not trying to take away what they are. They are one of the unicorns of xmetals for sure)
