Question About My Juliets & A-Wires - Save, Sell, Or Toss??? PICS ADDED

Given your past history, my advice to you is to log off this forum and never log back on, if it is not already too late. I had one pair of XX for well over a decade with no compulsion to buy more. Someone stole it and while searching for a replacement I stumbled on to this forum and I was hooked. It has only been about a year and somehow I have acquired somewhere around 15-20 X-Metals (I have lost count), not to mention numerous lenses, rubbers and refinishes. The people here all seem nice and very helpful but they (we) are all infected and highly contagious. Get away while you still can!

Seriously though, your polished Juliets are a very nice pair and hammerstems are probably the most sort after of the regular edition Juliets. If you don't need the money hang on to them. They are only going to appreciate in value.

hahaha - you are probably right! If I can avoid the temptation of that first purchase I am usually OK. But once I buy that first whatever it is, something in me snaps and I go nuts. It can be something as simple as a pair of dice, soccer scarf, or even a box of Wheaties - next thing you know I have enough stuff to open up a soccer themed casino and feed every guest a complimentary bowl of cereal!

Dang, what do you guys do with all these glasses??? Wear a different pair everyday or display them as a collection? Or both?? That must get really freaking expensive! Oakleys are totally sweet but thankfully I have not gotten bitten with the collecting bug so far!

Yeah I was thinking my glasses would only go up in value if I keep them. But with my luck they will re-release them and then I wouldnt be able to give them away or something. But since I finally decided to sell them [UNDISCLOSED] for [UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT] now they will be worth thousands - thats how my luck goes!

With the exception of getting my RX version of CrossLink Switches last year, it has been quite a long while since I've really looked at Oakley's current lineup of models... maybe its time I look around for a new pair!? (ohhh nooo, and thats how it starts!!??!!)

Any x metal is worth saving. X metals are not just sunglasess imo theyre a part of history in the world of fashion accessories and is timeless by design.

Yes, both.

Similar to many here, I lost a pair, found this forum while researching replacements, then started buying more as backups. But while you're at it, instead of just having backups sit around in case you lose another pair, might as well customize them and wear them all! And look, check out this other frame, gotta have one of those... or two... and on it goes...

OK, well, I didnt listen to the sound advice from Edge and found myself browsing the custom section on the Oakely site  - next thing you know I have a pair of tricked out Racing Jackets in my cart and I'm reaching for the back pocket! What I didnt realize was that with every little added feature you click on, the little number at the bottom becomes no so little with every click! Good thing I looked at the new total before I punched in the Visa number! Holy crap, those are going to have to wait a bit..... Shoot, maybe I should have kept those Juliets!

I can guarantee you that if you stay on this site you will definitely regret selling those Julies. If you are looking at Racing Jackets thought check out the Oakley Vault site, you can usually pick up a pair for 30% off.

OK, cool, thanks Edge. I sure like the idea of personalized etching on the lenses - but with all the options I selected they were at like $400

So apparently A Wires are not as hot a commodity as Juliets huh? Havent had anyone asking about those at all. Maybe once I am allowed to post on the exchange I will offer them for sale over there or on FeeBay. There are just collecting dust at this point so maybe someone else would want them....

Hey GRF, that would be cool. I think for sure I will get rid of the thinner frame set with longer ear socks, not sure at this point if I will keep the thick set or not. The thin set has pretty decent lenses, I think black iridium and I would rate them a solid 8. I need new lenses in the thicks for sure, hard to find authentic lenses for those though, might see if I can put an RX set in them. I will probably post an ad when I get back in town next week.

Kinda of regretting it already but I dont think I would have ever worn them, I dont know.... I did look at the vault and the prices were decent, but they didnt have a configuration I wanted so I put together a custom set on Oak.com. I decided not to go with polarized to save the $100 on two sets of lenses, then I can get a 3rd set of lenses for them.

Not sure if I really need polarized but I do like the extra feature. There was a problem with my credit card (problem was not enough money! hahaha) so had them put the order on hold vs giving them a new card right away cuz I am trying to find somewhere that has a set in stock so I can see them in person and check the fit, etc - hate to spend $300+ to find out I didnt like them, they look kinda big in the pics? And Oak said no returns/refunds on custom glasses. I am going to have the lenses etched with my name so I didnt think they would take those back anyway. My eye dr said they would order a set for me to check out with no obligation to buy but they cant make a custom order for some reason, just the standard configurations.

Can you guys tell me the main difference between color of the red iridium polarized/non polarized? The polarized lenses look like they are more blue, like a red to blue fade?? And I know polarized is good for like glare, fishing, etc, but I just dont know if I need that, I think it brought the total up to like over $400 with both lens sets polarized, I chose red 00 & G30. G30 looks like a rose tint, is that correct?

GO TEAM USA!!
