R1 Plasma Fire

I recently picked up my first R1. An XM BI from a forum member. The very next day I stumbled across a plasma fire R1 so I picked it up as well. Turns out there's a bit of discoloration on the frame, on the nose bridge and one of the arms on the bottom. I know this is common and from what I've read, nothing short of a refinish will fix it. Is this the case? Id rather not refinish it if I can help it. It came complete with serial matching box and all. Lenses have minor cracks only on the inside and no scratches. The other thing is that one of the lens gaskets fell apart upon disassembly. Easily replaced.

The discoloration is common and can't be fixed. You can only refinish them.

You guys are nuts... I'm going to clean up a Plasma R1 tomorrow. I'll take Before and after post, you guys can make your own decisions on the results.
