My local vault just got a little remodel with new cases. I had to ask what happen to their old ones. A local company comes by, picks them up, and trashes them. When asked about buying one before they were destroyed they were told they they couldn't sell it because they were paid by the pound for what was picked up. Buy they were also told that a lot of the stuff ends up at houses of the employees of that company. They also pick up the remaining items from furniture stored and electronic stores.
