I am looking at a pair of glasses on ebay and on the right stem it says sample. What does that mean? Anyone seen that before?

They are sample frames used by Oakley sales reps to show their clients/customers and will say "sample" on the ear stem.

I am guessing that takes away from the value then?

The biggest difference I have found is that the lens cuts are not quite as smooth so sometimes it is a little harder to pop lenses in and out. Other than that very little difference. I am sure most collectors would rather not have "sample" written in the glasses. But as I get tons of these a year, wear them myself, and use them as giveaways. They are very similar to regular ones.

Actually there no difference in them...
I have quite a lot of those too. Nothing wrong with it ;-)
