Receiving a valuable pack from the UK. I have never had to pay duty before but this package is worth over 3k. Will I be subject to duty or any other fees?
The whole catch here is the over $3K value of the item. If the shipper "accidentially" declared a lower value, it should get through fine. But over $2K and it may be held up for formal entry, which means you'd need to file some paperwork or hire a customs broker.
But a commercial service like Fedex will take care of that for you, which is why I asked shipping method.
As far as a duty fee goes, maybe. Depends on what the item is. It really takes an expert to figure that out; the list is long and complicated.
