Should I Do This To My Car?

Same goes for cars as it does for motorcycles... It's not you, it's the thousands of *******s around you. Someone runs a red light and smashes your Miata and sends you rolling, your safe "around town" car is suddenly just as vulnerable as it would be on the highway.
Moral of the story? Put two roll hoops, one for each occupant, that stick way up to save your life. If you're dead, where are we going to get slightly inaccurate or antiquated Oakley tidbits?!
Definitely looks cool, but add the hoops.

It actually already has Chrome hips right now above each headrest. It'd be nice to somehow integrate hidden pop up ones like in the Audi TT. nlgrav182

Right, but those hoops are insufficient should you chop the windshield. You'd need another foot or so, depending on your height. Sunglass Shack

Yup, with no windshield A frame they will make little difference

I'm still considering it. I was looking at what would be involved and it's quite extensive. I'd have to cut the A pillars and that entire area where the pillars and windshield were would need some custom metal work in order to fill in the mess left behind. It would definitely be a different looking machine . Next step is at least to talk to DMV about legalities.
