It's a proprietary aluminium alloy, Oakley hasn't released details.

There was a C5 prototype Madman at one of the Collector Events and most people felt it was very heavy.

I dont think that was C5. From what I read elsewhere, those were a nickle alloy of sorts, which would def explain the weight.

The label says "cast nickle (sic) silver (C5)" so it sounds like one and the same.

ah i didn't notice that before. I thought C5 was an aluminum allow. Must be c6/7? im thinking of. Still explains the weight

Guess it could still be an aluminium alloy, just that nickel is the primary metal. So an Ni alloy with Al rather than vice versa.

If these prototypes were the product on sale, the actual price would be fair. But with plastic parts...no
