This Is My Case. There Are Many Like It, But This One Is Mine...

When I first joined the forum it quickly became apparent that a case was in my future. And that a x-metal single-wide, the version with the I-beam corners, would be the one.

But being local pickup only in the highly-competitive Texas area, it took a long time for one to hit the market. But one finally did and I grabbed it!

Still a work in progress. 6 of the 8 rivets that mount the top were out, but the seller still had them. They're now repaired. Locks need replacing; uninstalled the old but haven't bought the replacements yet. Windexed the plexi - overall the plexi's in good shape but there are a few scuffs and scratches; got some novus 123 on the way. Been cleaning up the aluminum, still working on it.

This one is unlighted so I threw a couple sets of ikea dioder in there. White light's the way to go but it also gives me some cool color options.

I'll post more pics once I get it all finished up, but in the meantime here's how things look. This is not the location it'll be displayed in, just where I'm staging the work. The Oaks were thrown in for the pics; I haven't decided if that's how they'll eventually be organized.

The dioder kits each have four LED strips. I did the two kits left / right, with each kit having a single strip above the opaque plexi on top and the other three down the side. I had to drill a couple of holes in the inside top to run the lights; they fit perfectly in between the plexi wall and shelves; no additional mounting hardware necessary. You can see them here:

They can be manually set at a static color pretty much anywhere in the spectrum or to gradually scroll through the entire range. But since each side is an independent set, I can do some color combos. Here's some examples.

Awesome dude! The lighting is pretty bad a$$ as well, I am going to eventually update my stock halogens and may do some multi colored led bulbs. Congrats on the case!
