I am wearing mine today and just checked and my "automatic" is still red. I have had mine for 4 years and wear it 3-4 times a month.

I have seen this before, but on a different watch. Had a Tag that I used to wear when I worked outside for a lumberyard. The numerals faded, but not the hands or datejust, because they all moved and didnt stay in one place under the sunlight.
