Tour De France 2014

Sagan is not a pure sprinter at all, he showed this when finishing up with the big names on a very tough stage 2. This is exactly the reason he is so well suited to the green jersey, as he is able to pick up points on stages when a lot of the main sprinters cannot, just like Thor Hushovd a few years ago.
Um, you sure about that? He had more wins than Cav or Kittel in the 2013 season, as well as more podium placings for 2nd and 3rd than both of them combined for those placings. I would argue that he is a pure sprinter...he is also a smarter one, hence all the jersey's and podiums. You would have to go back to a relatively green (no pun) rider of 2011, at barely 21, to see him behind. I say that and I am a Cavendish fan first and foremost over any of them.

He was ahead of Cav and Kittel in 2012 in total podium again and tied with Mark for wins.

Cobblestones today always exciting to watch. kinda like nascar you watch for the crashes
I can't wait to watch it tonight. It could be a good day for a breakaway to succeed if they let one get far enough up the road and they have good luck on the cobbles. I don't see this stage finishing in a bunch sprint, even though its flat.

I simply state it as, 'pure sprinters' were absolutely no where on stage 2 which was extremely hard. Sagan is also a great single day classics rider as he has shown in the Ardennes classics.

However, each to his own, that is just my opinion

Yesterday's stage was crazy, I have never seen so many riders going down, and most of it was on the roads not to cobbles. I hated to see Froome crash out. I don't understand why the riders were upset with the ASO after the stage, they can't help the weather conditions and like I said earlier the cobbles weren't the cause of the wrecks. I guess they were on different bikes and tires due to the cobbles so maybe that part affected their handling. I didn't think it was a dangerous stage like as opposed to what happened in the Giro this year.

Well the Gorilla found a way to beat Kittel...a flat tire on the run in to the finish. I'm thinking todays stage with the 2 cat 4 climbs at the end is perfect for Sagan (assuming he is not too beat up from his 2 crashes) I'll have to wait and watch the replay tonight to see if my prediction holds true.

The last two days of rain are blowing teams apart with some important people banged up or out. I think Jens post race interview yesterday was enlightening about the attitude of sportsmanship as a whole among the Peloton. We see how that plays out in the mountains if there is any major wrecks or mechanicals.
