Hmmm, not sure. Gold clear is a contrast lens, sure, but it's subtle - I'm not sure a couple of microns of iridium could so thoroughly overwhelm a couple of mm of coloured lens base.I think violet is neutral and the iridium makes it look contrast. Just like ruby is neutral but looks blue when you look through it
Held up to a light source and looked directly through, violet appears to be the same base as fire. Ruby does look to have a blue base compared to the likes of black and emerald, but, as it doesn't enhance any contrast, Oakley lumps it in with the true neutral greys.
