what is the big deal about the Frog Skins? Don't they look just like the plastic frame of the HolBrooks? I ask because I never ventured into the FrogSkin realm yet.

Frogskins were released in the mid 1980's ... And are made of 'plastic'

Holbrooks were released (unless o-review is lying to me) in 2010 and are made of the same 'plastic'

So in theory Holbrooks are based on Frogskins and not the other way around

What's the big deal? I dunno if there is one... But I think
they're iconic Oakley and have a classic/timeless design.

For a while they were the company's top seller and pretty much kept them afloat, much to JJ's dismay because he's quoted as saying he hated the design.

They tend to attract a lot of attention and have good sales world wide, particularly Japan.

They tend to attract special sponsors for collab pairs which are uber limited release and thus, get a lot of demand, which then drives the prices up.

Holbrooks have never really gotten the same 'attention'. They're a much newer pair, designed by Shaun White himself. They a heavily favoured design and according to a Forum sponsor they were in the company's top 3 sellers last year (matte black/grey). They're are a few sought after models (Goldbrook and Jupiter are all I know ) but nothing like the money a St Pattys Day, an AAPE or a fabled AP will ever bring in ...

After visiting a Vault this weekend and seeing the new Koston's in person... even though they're mass marketed... the black regular camo Koston's are pretty damned sweet.

The blends are a chop custom but look close to the same as the real one. I'm missing the berrics Unified but oh well maybe some day. These are just favorites in my opinion especially since I've been lucky enough to find most of them.
