Heh...I was thinking the same thing.
Wouldn't "P59" have been more appropriate? Go figure.

Sounds too much like a tax form.

    Won't be long before we have this conversation . . . .
    "Got handed my P45 today"
"Cool - what's the lens transmission"
"No, I mean I got fired"

So I got to check out the P42 lens today. My Vault got in a pair of MPH Matte Navy Blue Flak Jackets with P42 lenses (so, yes, they are available in standard, non-asian, fit too).

Looking through the lens is like looking through a subdued Persimmon lens; things don't look as bright and happy as they do with Persimmon, but there is still an orangish hue. From the outside, the lens doesn't look that great. The iridium coating is pretty weak. It almost looks more like a black iridium coating than blue. They're more along the lines of G30 Black than HI Persimmon. Actually, the coating on HI Persimmon is waaayyy more extreme than P42.

Would I buy a pair? Sure. But it will never be my favorite lens.
