Are they low production run ? I have seen some crazy prices on Oakley Romeo sunglasses lately? Is this just the x-metal craze in full swing? Just doesn't make sense to me!

Hundreds of thousands sold. Relatively few available.
Fair Market Value vs demand.

You just made my day!! Hail to the King, baby! :D

Because they were the among the first X-metals to get discontinued. Oakley felt like there was a design flaw due to the stress fracture. ~ In 2004, Oakley started a soft recall by having the "exchange program". This covered sending any Romeo back whether new, old, broken or sealed. Then you get another X-metal of choice with similar pricing as the Romeo or lower back. Original receipt was unnecessary so anyone who can acquire a Romeo for dirt cheap can exchange it for a brand new juliet or sometimes a XX. With all that said, there are "less" Romeos floating around, hence making it sound like there's a shortage when really nobody cared much about it even going back in 1997. SunglassHut or OPD never sold out.
