Too expensive to produce. 50 kilograms of steel necessary for a final result of 12.
Some details that explain the apparition of the mg 42.
The fact that she was mounted on the most of the legendary vehicles of third reich is something that makes this machine gun my preference of his time.

Haha that's right ! I already saw a replica of it being sold on eBay.

Much admiration and respect for the 'workhorse' with a nasty bite. Love that solid design. Might not have been as nimble as the P-51 or as laden as the Black Widow, but she had it where it counts.
