How much is a reasonable price for the case? A seller in bend OR is asking $600 for it. The odd thing is that he is using the same picture that is posted here Which makes me a bit skeptical.

I think $600 is a fair price. I seen that ad in OR and noticed the same picture was being used so I am wondering if it is a stock photo someplace. I'd ask the seller if this was his own photo or stock but he's taking care of some personal business right now and I don't want to bother him. I won mine on Ebay for $770 which I thought was a good price.
