The safes may be fireproof, how hot do they get inside during said fire?
a house fire can be well over 1000 degrees do the safes keep the items below a certain temp?

I'm saying that after the house burns to the ground and all the flames are out, you can search for the fireproof safes and they'll be fine. All of your stuff will still be inside, safe and sound. Unless you buy a piece of crap, and that will probably melt.

And on the temp thing, I'm not sure really. But it's better to have things in a safe then not in one. I just read that MEDIA wouldn't do well in a fireproof safe, so maybe have another plan for that. But most jewelry, papers, etc. would be fine inside one.
