Oakley Kitchen Sink Review

Our Gear

Today we’ll be reviewing the Oakley Kitchen Sink backpack in Stealth Black to see how it stands up to a week of hiking, biking, and more!

Let’s see how it went.

Initial Impressions and Review

From the minute we got our hands on the Kitchen Sink, we were amazed at how much storage this backpack offers.

During our week using this bag, we always had plenty of room for anything we wanted to bring.

Design and Storage

The design of the Kitchen Sink backpack blends toughness and functionality. And still seems to pack every conceivable innovation!

Outfitted with serious hardware in the way of metal rings for carabiners and other packs, this bag is definitely heavy-duty. That’s not to mention the metal accents, big pockets, and waist belt that help you tackle any environment.

But we loved that despite the abundance of versatile storage options (pockets, holders, etc.) when fully closed, the bag still looks simple. We’d chalk a lot of that up to the Stealth Black color and accents which helps give the bag an everyday appeal.

This means you can easily use this bag for going to the office or on a weekend camping trip without getting too many looks.

Main Compartment

The spacious main compartment of this bag is where we stored most of our gear.

Our record amount of gear came on a gym/workday where we were able to store a 17″ Macbook, charger cables, headphones, a spare set of clothes, and an extra pair of shoes! And that’s all in the top of the bag.

Plus the inside of the Kitchen Sink features a water-resistant liner that’s abrasion-resistant. This particularly comes in handy for any beverages your carrying.

We can embarrassingly admit the liner did its job preventing a slight (or maybe not so slight) water bottle leak from going anywhere near the laptop sleeve.

Bottom Panel Storage

One of our favorite features of the Kitchen Sink was its bottom storage compartment. This area is separate from the main compartment and accessed through a zipper on the bottom of the bag.

While it appears small at first, this section actually has a ton of storage! And like the other areas of this pack, the bottom offers moisture protection.

We loved using this section for sweaty shoes or gym clothes, or wet rain gear.

Yes, the Kitchen Sink Backpack is a must-have for anything looking for a large versatile backpack that can stand up to any unpredictable day.

Additionally, If you spend any time outdoors, you’ll love the water-resistant exterior and liners. Plus this bag can easily double as a tactical field pack thanks to its spacious storage and all-day comfort when full!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Oakley Kitchen Sink Waterproof?

Yes, the Oakley Kitchen Sink model is water repellent. This means the backpack has been specially designed to reduce leaks, spills, and even rain, using a special coating applied.

The Kitchen Sink offers this water resistance via a special coating that makes it “resistant” to water leaking through the backpack’s surface. It is however not waterproof.

Waterproofing generally means that no liquid at all can get through a product’s surface, while water resistance means that it is difficult for water to pass through it is possible under the right conditions.

How Big is the Kitchen Sink Backpack?

The Oakley Kitchen Sink Backpack dimensions are a spacious 20 H x 14 W x 8 D inches in size.

From our testing, we had no issue fitting a 17″ MacBook Pro into this backpack, plus plenty of gear thanks to its large storage capacity and compartments.

How Many Liters Is the Oakley Kitchen Sink?

The Oakley Kitchen Sink backpack can store up to 34 liters, making it a medium to a large backpack.

By our comparison, if you’re looking for even more space you’ll want to look at hiking packs instead of traditional backpacks.

Where to Buy Oakley Kitchen Sink Backpacks?

If you’re looking to buy a Kitchen Sink backpack your first stop is likely Oakley’s website (Product Link) where it retails for $225.

Hi. New here. So I bought the Oakley Kitchen Sink bag when it first came out. I bought a second one after. I just bought a third but this one seems supersized and I didn’t have the bathroom sink bag. So I’m not sure what the deal is. I went to Oakley website and they no longer have a bathroom sink bag and the kitchen sink bag is only in black. So I’m a little confused. Did they make other sizes. Is the size I got the new kitchen sink bag size? It’s great but it’s too big for me for everyday use so I’m trying to figure out what to buy. Any help would be great.
Lacking pictures of your bag, as you are describing it looks like you are talking about a Big Kitchen Bag.

They are 3 sizes, the Bathroom Sink being the smallest of the 3 bags, the Kitchen Sink who is bigger than the Bathroom and the Big Kitchen who is the biggest of the 3 bags from the Collection.

I have 2 of them, the Kitchen Sink and the Big Kitchen Stealth, in this picture the 1st one from the left is the Big Kitchen and the 3rd it is a Kitchen Sink, hope this helps figured out.

Yes. Thank I wasn’t aware of the Big Kitchen Sink bag. That one is like a trip bag. The ones I’ve had are more for everyday. Great bag. I’ll definitely use it. Do you know the Liter size of the Kitchen and Big Kitchen? Thanks!

You are welcome, the Kitchen Sink its 34 L and the Big Kitchen its 35 L, and yes the Big Kitchen could be used for trips, i use mine for 2-3 days weekend trips no problem, the expandable bag at the bottom is a nice feature to enlarge the capacity of the bag

There is also the lunch box. Which is similar to the sink series. It has a hard box cooler built in to it.

I love my lunchbox. Very practical when you have kids. They’re getting quite hard to find now

Oh, and
Yes @zcrxsi i also like my Lunchbox bag, it is pretty practical, you can carry your lunch, your computer, etc. in it

In my local facebok market there is one for sale that has been advertised for a long time now, it looks in good condition but the price he is asking is too pricey, i dont think $ 135 dlls at the current exchange rate is a good deal.

I got mine for a 3rd of that price.
