We review Oakley Manorburn sunglasses including the frame, lenses and size to see if this new frame is worth your money!

History and Release

Oakley has been making lifestyle sunglasses since the very first Frogskins came out in 1985. Never willing to cut back on innovation or quality, most Oakley lifestyle frames can easily double as performance frames. Now the Oakley Manorburn is the latest entry into the performance lifestyle category. Introduced in March 2021, they borrow quite a bit from their successful predecessors.

Frame and Design

The Oakley Manorburn has a full O Matter frame reminiscent of the Sylas and the Holbrook. Oakley even advertises this frame as the cousin of the Sylas. But where those styles are distinctly square, the Manorburn has more curves.

Honestly the Manorburn appears to be more of a hybrid between the Sylas and Frogskins. Though it is slightly rounder and more stylized, overall looks more refined. Where Frogskins are simple, the Manorburn is simple and sophisticated.

O Matter construction makes these sunglasses lightweight, flexible strong, and durable. Smooth lines are accompanied by an inset metal icon and a keyhole bridge in the frame. The lenses are rounded with a very slight upward taper at the temple and a simple, classic earstem. Plus the Manorburn frame also features Ace fit temples. This relatively new innovation allows a professional to heat and mold the frame to fit you perfectly.

Size and Dimensions

The Manorburn is a medium sized Oakley frame. We’ve included the dimensions below for your reference:

  • Frame Width: 130 mm
  • Bridge: 17 mm
  • Lens Width: 56 mm
  • Lens Height: 44 mm
  • Temple Length: 149 mm

Lenses

All of the Manorburn colorways feature Prizm lenses for enhanced color and contrast with optional iridium coating. Manorburn lenses are made of Plutonite, Oakley’s patented lens material that offers excellent impact resistance and full UVA, UVB, and UVC protection. Plus these lenses feature HD Optics to provide superior clarity.

Oakley has clearly shifted the Prizm lens technology to be a lifestyle lens from the sport specific days several years ago. We’re definitely not complaining as we’re fans of these lenses, especially in Prizm Ruby and Prizm Sapphire. Both of which are available in the Manorburn.

Oakley Manorburn prescription lenses are also available through your local eye doctor or Oakley. For more information check out our complete guide to Oakley prescription glasses.

Are Manorburn Replacement Lenses available?

The answer is a bit complicated. While the Manorburn lenses can be swapped, currently Oakley doesn’t sell any Manorburn replacement lenses. However this is likely because of how new the frame is. We’d expect both Oakley and several aftermarket manufacturers to begin selling replacement lenses for the Manorburn in the next few weeks. Be sure to check out our comparison of the best aftermarket Oakley lenses before you buy.

Where to Buy Oakley Manorburn Sunglasses?

As a brand new style, the Oakley Manorburn is available on the Oakley website (Product Link) and at authorized retailers. Currently the frame is retailing for $116 and up. With most colorways selling for $136.

However if your looking to save, you’re not out of luck. Between our Oakley Forum Exchange areas and aftermarket sites like eBay you can often save 20-30% off retail prices. Be sure you know how to spot fake Oakleys before buying on aftermarket sites like eBay or Facebook as they are riddled with counterfeits.

Final Thoughts

At first glance, the Oakley Manorburn sunglasses are a safe performance lifestyle frame. These definitely aren’t your disruptive design pairs of the past like a Medusa or X-Metals.

But the Manorburn has something Oakley enthusiasts appreciate just as much as disruptive design: wearability. This is a pair of sunglasses made for everyday wear. They are classic, comfortable, and versatile.

This simple but classic styling makes them appropriate for any occasion, from running errands to attending an outdoor wedding. The lightweight frame is built for comfort and is further adaptable with Ace Fit temples. Overall this is a great all around frame.
