How to Choose the Right Pair of Oakley Prescription Glasses

When choosing the perfect pair of Oakley prescription glasses, it’s essential to consider your face shape. Certain frame styles complement different face shapes, so knowing which one suits you best will help narrow down your options and ensure a comfortable fit.

Additionally, you also want to consider frame material, lens material, and your prescription since these can all affect the quality of your vision and fit.

Face Shape

Understanding your face shape is crucial when it comes to selecting the perfect pair of Oakley prescription glasses. Not all frames complement every face shape- understanding yours will ensure that you not only look great but feel confident in your new eyewear. Here are some tips for measuring and determining which Oakley frames best suit your specific face shape:

  • Oval: Look for wider rectangular or square-shaped lenses with a narrow bridge.
  • Round: Angular and geometric-shaped frames work best, such as rectangle or square designs.
  • Heart-Shaped: Cat-eye styles are flattering, as well as oval shapes with rounded edges.
  • Square: Rounded shapes like aviators and round glasses soften angles and balance the jawline.

To measure your face shape accurately, use a flexible tape measure to measure across the top of your cheekbones, across the forehead at its widest point, from temple to temple over the nose bridge, and from earlobe to earlobe over the tip of your nose. Frame Material

Oakley offers a diverse range of frame materials for their prescription glasses and sunglasses, each with its own set of advantages and disadvantages. O Matter and BiO-Matter frames are lightweight and affordable but may not be as durable compared to metal or titanium frames. Metal frames are sturdier but can be heavy on the face, while titanium is a more expensive option known for being both strong and lightweight.

When choosing a frame material, it’s important to consider your lifestyle needs. For instance, if you’re an athlete looking for eyewear that can withstand impact during sports activities, then a sturdy frame made from metal or titanium may be best suited for you. Alternatively, if you prioritize comfort over durability, then plastic frames might be the way to go.

Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and how well the frame material fits into your lifestyle needs – whether that means selecting something sporty or casual in style. Keeping these factors in mind when selecting Oakley prescription glasses or sunglasses with the right frame material will ensure maximum comfort & confidence wearing them every day!

Lens Material

Oakley offers a variety of lens materials to choose from, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from the different options:

  • Polarized lenses: These are great for reducing glare and enhancing contrast, making them ideal for water activities or driving during bright sunlight.
  • Photochromic lenses: These change tint based on the amount of light present, transitioning from clear to dark as needed. They’re versatile enough to be worn in all types of conditions.
  • Polycarbonate lenses: Known for being lightweight and impact-resistant, these are a solid choice for sports or other high-intensity activities.

When selecting the right lens material for your Oakley glasses or sunglasses, consider how you’ll be using them. Are they primarily for casual wear? Or will they be put through their paces during intense physical activity? Understanding your needs will help guide you toward choosing the best option.

Prescription Type

Oakley offers different types of prescriptions for their glasses, including single vision and progressive lenses. Single-vision lenses correct one type of vision problem, while progressive lenses are perfect for people with multiple eye conditions. To get your prescription in order, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with an optometrist or ophthalmologist who will conduct a comprehensive eye examination. Once you have your prescription, the trained opticians at Oakley stores will help ensure that you get an accurate prescription by double-checking measurements and making adjustments if needed.

Opticians play a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive the right prescription for their glasses. They use specialized tools to measure pupillary distance and other factors necessary in creating custom-made eyewear that meets each individual’s needs. The optician also provides guidance on choosing frames that suit your face shape and lifestyle preferences while offering tips on proper care to extend your eyeglass lifespan. By working closely with both customers and doctors, Oakley aims to provide high-quality products tailored specifically for its clients’ unique eyesight needs- so be sure to trust them!

Overall, Oakley prescription sunglasses offer both style and functionality in one package- making them a great investment for anyone who requires corrective lenses while still wanting to look good doing it.

Non-Prescription Sunglasses

Oakley is a leading brand in the eyewear industry, and its non-prescription sunglasses are no exception. Its best-selling models include the Holbrook, Frogskins, and Gascan. These models have unique designs that appeal to different tastes and preferences.

Oakley uses various lens technologies in their non-prescription glasses, such as Prizm Lens Technology which enhances color contrast for improved clarity. You’ll also find an even better variety of frame and lens colors and designs with non-prescription sunglasses.

Features and Technologies of Oakley Prescription Glasses and Sunglasses

Oakley prescription glasses and sunglasses are designed with advanced features and technologies that enhance visual clarity, comfort, and performance.

Oakley’s Prizm technology provides unprecedented control of light transmission for optimized contrast, color, and visibility in various environments. With polarized lenses that block glare from reflective surfaces like water or snow, Oakley glasses offer improved eye comfort during outdoor activities.

In addition to enhancing visual acuity, Oakley eyewear also offers superior protection against harmful UV rays. Their lenses filter out 100% of UVA/UVB/UVC rays and harmful blue light up to 400nm.

Furthermore, the impact-resistant material used in their frames ensures durability even in extreme conditions. Whether you’re a professional athlete or an everyday wearer looking for quality eyewear solutions – Oakley has got your back!

Prizm Lens Technology

Prizm Technology is a game-changer for Oakley prescription glasses and sunglasses. The lens colors and uses offer enhanced color and contrast, making it easy to see every detail in any environment. This technology is perfect for those who need precise vision while playing sports or being active outdoors. Additionally, there are prescription Prizm options available for those who require corrective lenses.

The enhanced color and contrast of Prizm Technology can significantly improve your visual experience. It’s like turning up the saturation on life! Plus, with specific lens tints designed for different activities, such as golfing or cycling, you’ll have an edge over the competition. Finally, with Oakley’s prescription options available in this technology – you don’t have to sacrifice performance for eyesight correction anymore!

Polarized Lenses

Polarized lenses are designed to block horizontal rays of light, commonly known as glare, from flat surfaces such as water or snow and provide improved clarity in bright conditions.

Oakley offers an extensive range of polarized lenses to choose from to fit your needs.

Polarized Benefits:

  • Reduced glare
  • Improved clarity in bright conditions

However, it’s important to note that polarization can affect prescription lenses differently than non-prescription ones due to the curvature of the lens. This can result in distortion or reduced effectiveness if not specifically designed for prescription use. Be sure to consult with an optician before choosing polarized lenses for your Oakley prescription glasses.

UV Protection

UV Protection is crucial for maintaining eye health when out in the sun. Oakley offers 100% protection against harmful UV rays ensuring that you’re covered no matter what your needs may be.

In addition to these technologies, Oakley also provides prescription lens options with built-in UV protection. This means that those who require corrective lenses can still enjoy the benefits of full UV protection without sacrificing their vision clarity.

Overall, investing in a pair of Oakley prescription glasses or sunglasses with proper UV protection is essential for both clear vision and long-term eye health.

Impact Resistance

Oakley’s proprietary impact resistance technology sets their prescription glasses and sunglasses apart from the competition. Their lenses are designed to withstand high-velocity and high-mass impacts, ensuring that your eyes stay protected even during extreme activities.

Here are some key points to know about Oakley’s impact resistance:

  • Oakley tests their lenses against ANSI Z87.1 standards for high mass and velocity impact resistance.
  • The brand also conducts additional testing on its own with a “shotgun test,” where steel pellets are fired at the lens to simulate real-world scenarios.
  • Compared to other brands, Oakleys have been shown to be more durable in drop tests, meaning they can handle accidental drops or bumps without shattering.

Overall, if you’re looking for reliable protection for your eyes during any activity, Oakley prescription glasses and sunglasses should be at the top of your list thanks to their advanced impact-resistant technology.

Oakley Prescription Glasses and Sunglasses Maintenance

When it comes to maintaining Oakley prescription glasses and sunglasses, cleaning and proper storage are key. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the lenses and avoid using harsh chemicals on the frames. Make sure to store them in their protective case when not in use, preferably away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

In the unfortunate event that your lenses become damaged or scratched, don’t worry – lens replacement and repair services are available. Contact an authorized Oakley dealer for assistance with getting your glasses back into top shape. By taking care of your Oakleys properly, you can ensure they last for years to come while also providing optimal vision support.

Cleaning and Storage Tips

Use a microfiber cloth to clean lenses. This material is gentle on the lenses and helps avoid scratches, which could ultimately affect how you see through your Oakley prescription glasses. Avoid using paper towels or abrasive materials that can leave residue or cause damage.

When not in use, store your Oakley prescription glasses in the provided case to protect them from dust and scratches. This will also help maintain their shape and reduce the chances of accidental drops or bumps. Taking good care of your Oakleys will ensure they last for years to come!

Lens Replacement and Repair

Before attempting any DIY repairs on your Oakley prescription glasses, it’s important to check for warranty options. Attempting a repair yourself could void the warranty and end up costing you more in the long run. If you’re unsure about repairing your glasses, contact Oakley customer service for professional repairs.

If your lenses are scratched or damaged beyond repair, consider replacing them rather than buying new frames. This can save you money and still provide the same quality of vision as before. What Do You Need to Order Prescription Oakleys

All you really need is your valid prescription, usually dated within the last year.

If ordering through your optician, we’d suggest knowing the frame and lens combination you’d like by browsing Oakley’s website in advance.

If ordering direct from Oakley, you’ll proceed with the order the same as any sunglasses. After checkout, you’ll be prompted to submit your prescription for review and order confirmation.

How To Find Discount Prescription Oakleys

Can I still get prescription lens for my Fast Jackets? I'd like to get a set of Progressive lens

@Chris A Hardaway ?? Any chance you can help out? If he can, I can’t recommend Chris high enough! Stand up guy and willing to work out kinks with customs.
Sadly on the fast jacket the Rx blanks I can get aren't big enough... I tried to do a pair as recently as 6 months ago. I think it's a 71mm width lens. Insane. When you consider a C-Six is huge around 66mm. And a pit boss big around 62mm!

Thanks for the feedback buddy. I got your email earlier this evening and will reply tomorrow :)
