Oakley PRIZM 24K Lens Review & Guide

Oakley Prizm 24K is one of the new hottest lenses from Oakley. And with the limited edition release of the Oakley Kato X and Xeus featuring 24K, this has quickly become one of the most popular lenses.

Keep reading for our complete Oakley Prizm 24K Lens review. Plus the best frames that feature this lens.

What is Oakley PRIZM 24K?

Oakley Prizm 24K is a part of Oakley’s everyday lens collection designed to enhance contrast and color while reducing glare. Plus this lens features a distinct gold lens color that pops in any frame.

We’ve highlighted the top features of this frame below.

PRIZM 24K Features

  • Bronze base tint for a warmer appearance
  • 11% Visible light transmission (VLT)
  • Optimized for bright light conditions with contrast-enhancing
  • Available in polarized and prescription options

What Conditions are best for 24K?

Prizm 24K lenses are best in bright light conditions like a sunny day.

This means these are great everyday lenses for sunny summer days where there is maximum brightness. If you prefer a lens that works in varying conditions we’d recommend you look at Prizm Tungsten.

PRIZM 24K Gold Lens Review

We reviewed a pair of Oakley Sutro sunglasses with Prizm 24K lenses (Product Link) and overall were really impressed. After wearing them every day for a week we can see why these are becoming one of the most popular lenses.

The first thing you notice about 24K? The gold color.

While Oakley has plenty of bright lens colors like Prizm Ruby and Ice Iridium, 24K Gold seems to strike the perfect balance of bright but subtle. It’s probably something to do with the gold color itself. It’s definitely bright but it’s not aggressive.

But Prizm 24K does more than just look pretty.

Overall, the bronze base tint in Prizm 24K provides a warm color to the world around you, while still providing the contrast-enhancing of Prizm technology that we always love.

Our Recommendation – Are They Worth It?

The short answer – it depends. We’d recommend Prizm 24K lenses for anyone who likes the gold color and/or likes a warm tint to their glasses (think browner than your usual black lenses).

Outside of that criteria, we’d likely recommend other lenses in the Everyday collection like Prizm Tungsten or Prizm Black.
