Oakley Prizm Snow Jade Iridium Lens

What color is Prizm Snow Jade?

When looking at Prizm Snow Jade from the outside it appears to be a bright green color with hints of purple depending on the angle. Plus this lens features an Iridium mirrored coating which means other riders won’t be able to see your eyes.

But from the inside, this lens looks completely different.

Thanks to Prizm Snow Jade’s Rose base tint you see a warm light pink appearance when wearing this lens. This rose tint is very similar to the traditional red-ish tint you’ll find on other ski goggles.

You can see what it looks like to wear Prizm Snow Jade below.

Prizm Jade vs. Prizm Snow Jade

Oakley offers Prizm Jade lenses in its sunglasses lineup, and while there are similarities with Prizm Snow Jade, there are also some key differences!

To start, both Jade and Snow Jade feature the same great Prizm contrast-enhancing technology. Plus, you’ll find the same bright green lens appearance in both lenses.

But that’s where the similarities stop.

Mainly, Oakley Prizm Jade features a grey base tint built for everyday life, while Prizm Snow Jade has a rose base tint designed to give snow conditions a warmer appearance.

Additionally, Prizm Jade has a 14% VLT compared to Prizm Snow Jade’s darker 13% VLT. While not a big difference, on a sunny day, you’ll be happy to have every bit of tint you can!

Overall, the differences between these lenses really focus on tuning Prizm Snow Jade specifically for snow and ski conditions. And ultimately, if you’re a fan of the original Prizm Jade, you’ll definitely be a fan of the snow variation!

Prizm Snow Jade Lens Review

Our Gear and Weather

For our review, we wore a pair of Oakley Line Miner goggles with a Prizm Snow Jade Iridium lens. You can read our full Line Miner review here, but overall we had a great time with this frame.

And despite our hopes for a bright sunny day to really test this lens, we ended up with snowy and cloudy conditions throughout the day. But honestly, this lens only made the weather conditions even more fun!

Keep reading to find out why.

Our Impressions and Review

As we mentioned when we took Prizm Snow Jade out for the day it ended up being pretty overcast and cloudy with some on and off snowfall. But the minute we put on this lens it instantly brightened our day (literally and figuratively).

The Rose base tint definitely made it feel like a brighter day than it really was. And the bright Jade green on the outside of this lens got more than a handful of compliments from other skiers and snowboarders.

Focusing back on the lens performance – we definitely were impressed with the contrast-enhancing.

We mainly were skiing blue diamond runs the day we tested this lens and counted at least 3 occasions where we spotted sticks or divots in the terrain that other riders were missing (and having much worse days than us as a result).

Are They Worth It – Our Recommendation?

Yes, we recommend Oakley Prizm Snow Jade for anyone looking to take their skiing or snowboarding to the next level (or just prevent injury!).

If you’re stuck trying to choose between Prizm Snow Jade or the other snow lenses like Prizm Sapphire, be sure to check out our full guide to Oakley Prizm Snow Lenses.

But since all of these lenses feature contrast-enhancing technology, it will also come down to the lens color you’re looking to sport down the mountain.
