What color is Prizm Snow Torch?

Oakley Prizm Torch Iridium has a bright red/orange appearance when looking at the outside of the lens.

And Prizm Torch has a pinkish-red tint when wearing this lens. This is thanks to the lens’ rose base tint designed to provide a warm optical experience while providing contrast.

Our Review Gear

For our review, we wore a pair of Oakley Flight Path Goggles along with Canopy Goggles (pictured below) featuring Prizm Snow Torch lenses on a sunny day skiing. And overall, this is one of our new favorite Oakley Prizm Snow lenses.

Now let’s dive into our review to explain why.

Initial Impressions and Review

As mentioned above, we skied with these lenses on a pretty sunny day, and they delivered. Oakley advertises Prizm Torch as a “Sun & Clouds” goggle alongside Prizm Sapphire Iridium and Jade, so we weren’t too concerned. But having recently tried Prizm Snow Black lenses, we also knew these wouldn’t be close to that dark tint.

In the end, we had no issues with the sunlight. Prizm Torch has enough tint that we were never squinting, even in the middle of the day with peak sunlight. This is also why red lenses are one of the best ski and snowboarding lens colors.

And the rose base tint gives a bright red appearance to the mountain, similar to traditional ski goggles. While lighter lenses like Prizm Hi-Pink work best in snow conditions, we’d still be willing to take Prizm Torch out for a snowy day without any concerns.

But our favorite part of this lens may be its color! This lens has a deep red color that is difficult to describe without seeing it in person. But once we laid eyes on this lens, we were hooked.

Are They Worth It – Our Recommendation?

Overall, we had a great time with our Prizm Snow Torch Iridium lenses and would highly recommend them to any skiers looking for a great all-around lens. This is the same “sun & clouds” category as Prizm Sapphire and Prizm Jade lenses that work great in most conditions.

If you’re choosing between those three lenses, it will really be decided by your favorite color. All three lenses (Sapphire, Torch, and Jade) share a rose base tint, and while Sapphire and Jade are slightly darker, it won’t be noticeable to most skiers. We suggest heading to your local Oakley store or ski shop and trying them on in person to choose.

It’s a nice lens, however I was surprised that it seems best in an overcast conditions.
In direct and bright light, I was squinting.

Also easy to see your eyes with them on as well.

With Snow Sapphire and Snow Black could look direct at the sun, no squinting.

Anybody use these as an everyday lens? I really like the how these look from the outside, but unsure if a lens built for snow conditions would work as an everyday lens in southern CA where we basically have no seasons. Also, how is the contrast color effect with these? I have DWP and really like how they bring out bright colors and make things pop. Am trying to decide between these and Prizm Ruby for my everyday lens. Currently am using Prizm Road, which I like, but the contrast effect isn't as vibrant as I'd like and also, I want a more red look from the outside instead of the pink/purple of Road.
