Oakley Standard Issue Guide

What is Oakley Standard Issue (Oakley SI)?

Oakley SI is Oakley’s discount program for U.S. military service members, government employees, first responders, firefighters, contractors, and the like.

Also known as the Oakley Military program, it sells discounted Oakleys with direct pricing to its members.

How Much Cheaper is Oakley Standard Issue?

Oakley SI prices are about 50% of the retail price seen on Oakley.com.

But you can only view pricing on the Oakley Standard Issue site once you have a valid account and login.

Generally, the best discounts are on specific Oakley Military sunglasses. And it’s important to know that the SI discount is the same regardless of your service line, rank, or years of service.

That means the Oakley first responder discount is the same as the Oakley military discount.

Is Oakley Standard Issue Legit?

Yes, Oakley Standard Issue is run directly by Oakley. All of the products sold through the site are 100% authentic.

Oakley offers the site specifically for its members as a way to thank and serve our armed forces, first responders, and government employees.

Can Civilians Buy Oakley Military Gear?

Unfortunately, if you don’t meet the criteria above (military, government, law enforcement, etc.), you won’t be able to sign up for Oakley SI.

As a part of the sign-up, you must use a valid government or military email address and provide an ID as proof. So for civilians, you’re out of luck.

But they can buy Oakley SI products through the standard Oakley website, including ballistic sunglasses and boots. However, when buying through Oakley, civilians won’t get the same SI discount.

Can Non-Service Members/Government Employees Use a Friend’s Account?

According to Oakley, it’s against their terms to use a friend’s account. This can even result in your friend’s account being banned from the SI program:

Participating in this program is a privilege and there are guidelines that must be followed. By using this site and participating in this program, you agree that you will not sell Oakley products to any individual, department, team, or unit. You agree that you will not sell the Oakley products or divert such products for resale in any environment whatsoever, including but not limited to, the Internet, swap meets, or flea markets. Please understand that the Oakley legal team prosecutes any and all abusers to the fullest extent of the Law.

It’s also well known that several websites sell SI products on the aftermarket. So if you really want to purchase one of these items, it isn’t too hard to find.

Many of these frames offer enhanced durability and increased lens strength against projectiles. Plus, they’re compatible with night vision and other military electronics and equipment.

How to Track New SI Releases, Information, etc.?

Maximizing Your Benefits: Tips for Utilizing the Oakley SI Program

Now that you’re signed up for Oakley Standard Issue, here’s how you can get the most out of the program. First, you want to focus on sunglasses and eyewear, since they offer the biggest discounts through the SI program with up to 50% off.

Another way to maximize the program is by taking advantage of Oakley’s custom eyewear option. You can customize your glasses with specific lens and frame colors, and even add a personalized engraving. This allows you to get a product tailored to your needs while still benefiting from the discount.

Oakley SI also offers limited-time deals and promotions. Keep an eye out for these special offers, as they can provide even greater discounts on top of the standard program benefits. Signing up for Oakley’s newsletter or following them on social media can help you stay informed about these opportunities.

Lastly, consider combining your Oakley SI benefits with other discounts or rewards programs you may have access to. For example, if you have a credit card that offers cash back on purchases, you can use it to buy your Oakley SI products and get a double benefit. However, always check the terms and conditions to ensure these combinations are allowed.

Does Oakley Standard Issue Offer Discounts?

As mentioned before, Oakley Standard Issue products are already significantly discounted by 35% to 50%.

But you can still find additional sales, discounts, or Standard Issue promo codes. Typically these are sent to members through email. But be warned, they are rare.

Promo codes and sales are typically offered during holiday weekends, such as Black Friday, July 4th, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. Usually, the discount is an additional 10-20% off the already discounted prices.

Do Oakley Vaults carry SI products?

Yes, certain Oakley Vault stores carry SI products, including sunglasses, at discounted rates. It’s not a guarantee, but if you keep an eye out, you may be able to find one.

This has gotten harder as the Oakley Vault website is no longer active. But if you live near a Vault store, it’s definitely worth checking.

Not sure if this is in the correct section, but here goes:

I've noticed a few people mentioning they ask military and government buddies to purchase items for them from the Standard Issue site. I'm curious if anyone has access to a friends account and uses it to purchase items without bothering them every time they want to order; or if that is a) way too unethical or b) something Oakley would come after you (or your buddy) for?

I believe you'd run the risk of losing access to it.

Buying for someone not eligible is against their policy. But we crave our Oakleys and things find their way into our hands.

What's bad is when you see a new item hit the USSI website and there are examples on eBay shortly after for twice the price or more.

Yep, seen quite a bit of SI stuff while browsing ebay. Friend of mine offered to buy a few things I've been wanting, just wasn't sure if you could get away with paying and shipping to a different address than the registration one in order to save him the hassle every time something else catches my eye (which is rather often ha)

A buddy of mine can do the S.I. website he got me some stuff . I gave him C.C number and it came to my house. He told me to do it that way.

I think that someone can order for someone else. One big no no is ordering things from SI and selling them for a profit. I don't think that ordering for a friend would be much of a big deal as long as they pay the price you got for them. I also think that its not to big of a deal unless your buying tons of product and selling it twice the price. So i wouldn't get a habit doing it but i think once or twice for a buddy would be ok. I would use your address though. Just my two cents.

i really don't think oakley is too concerned with it as long as people aren't scalping. there are even some si pieces in one of my local vaults.

i buy for my friends all of the time but as has been mentioned above you should not sell at a profit that is a different story
but ordering for people is fine sometimes it is good trade fodder
